"Colors of Compassion"
Childrens Art is only one thing that makes this the "Happiest
Community Kitchen in KC".
On Wednesday, September 1 at 5:00 PM, the new home for the Kansas City Community Kitchen will be consecrated by Bishop Barry Howe. The consecration will take place at the new kitchen at 750 Paseo in downtown Kansas City, Missouri -- on the west side of Paseo between Admiral and 8th Street (map).
This consecration is especially meaningful. Some have been concerned that we are moving the community kitchen from its long time home at the Cathedral. Instead, we view this as an opportunity to begin a new site for Episcopal hunger relief ministry in a part of our city where the need is greatest. This new kitchen will expand our ability to respond to hunger in the Downtown Kansas City area, both for the homeless and the working poor.
The Kansas City Star has already labeled this "The happiest community kitchen in Kansas City," and NBC Action News has done preview stories that you can watch here. Help us to affirm and celebrate this ministry. For more information contact John Hornbeck at jhornbeck@EpiscopalCommunity.org..

Experience our Students' Success
6:00 PM at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral
After the consecration, join our Student Food Expo at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral at 13th and Broadway, KCMO
Experience the success of our current class of Culinary Cornerstones students in the most meaningful way possible: taste.
Each student creates their own menu, prepares the food, and presents it for your enjoyment. If you have been to even one of these, we don't have to convince you. If you haven't, oh what you have missed. For more information contact Jami Byer at jbyer@episcopalcommunity.org.
